FREE SharePoint Deployment Planning Services: Are You Eligible?

Microsoft’s SharePoint Deployment Planning Services (SDPS) is a Software Assurance benefit designed to help organizations plan effective deployments which optimize the core capabilities of SharePoint.  I’ve found that 9 times out of 10 SharePoint projects fail because of poor design and planning and it’s usually end-users who are trying to do the job on their own.

I always advocate the use of a partner because we work with these applications every day and understand how the product functions.  But in the case of SharePoint, this is especially true because of the design and planning phases.

In the beginning, bring in a partner to help build the foundation.  They will provide the tools and structure so you can continue your collaboration efforts on your own.  If not, you may end up paying more money in the long run having to go back to the design and planning stages later.  And best yet, with this program, you may be eligible to receive 1, 3, 5, 10 or 15-day deployment planning sessions led by a certified SPDS partner which is paid for by your Software Assurance benefits.  Consider this free money from products that you already own.

Benefits of SDPS include:

  • Obtain high quality, professional, and personal service from a certified SDPS partner
  • Assess how SharePoint can best strengthen the business processes in your organization
  • Utilize SharePoint best practices and tools from Microsoft
  • Get a presentation of customized roadmap for deployment

Microsoft reports that less than 5% of customers eligible for SPDS engagements have redeemed their vouchers.  Find out today if you are eligible; new implementations and upgrades qualify.  Otherwise, you may be leaving free money on the table.
